Greg Blache, a 22-year veteran with the National Football League, earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in secondary education, both from Notre Dame. For Notre Dame and Tulane University, he coached both offense and defense for a total of 20 years. In 1988 he was recruited by the Green Bay Packers to be their defensive line coach, a position he held until 1993. From 1994-98 he held that same position for the Indianapolis Colts. Then in 1998 the Chicago Bears hired Blache to be their defensive coordinator. After a successful five years with the Bears, he joined the Washington Redskins in 2003 as director of the defensive line and then defensive coordinator until he retired in 2009.
