Joe Hovel

Joe Hovel has a long record of experience in forests in this region. He is a forest land owner and manager with a deep history of conservation. He is the leading author in the Northwoods Forest Conservation handbook series, serves on the Wisconsin Forest Stewardship Advisory Committee, is president of Partners in Forestry Cooperative, and director of Northwoods Alliance Inc. He is credited for conserving several thousand acres of Northwoods forests; notably the Upper Wisconsin River Legacy Forest and the Pilgrim River Watershed Project as well as Wildcat Falls and Headwaters Cedar Community Forests.
