Before coming to the Northwoods, journalist Ardith Carlton studied Japanese language and culture at both the University of Michigan and Ohio State University, then accepted a fellowship that led to 19 years of living and working in Japan. Now a reporter and photographer for the Iron County Miner, she’s also a freelance translator and writer on Japanese topics.
