Northern Highland Psychoecology

This course will take place on Dec. 4 & 6 and Dec. 11 & 13 in Mercer, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., with George Conesa.

This course will explore the multifaceted and complex relationships between humans and their natural environments from various perspectives: human ecology, conservation psychology, psycho-aesthetics, and environmental ethics. This course will also explore the historical and sociocultural factors influencing perceptions of the natural world and the health and societal consequences of the arbitrary objectification of “nature” and “self.” We’ll also focus on Winter silent vs. noisy sports in our Northern Highland environs.

Materials will be provided freely online to the course’s students.
